Meet Lola*, 16 week old Giant Schnauzer. I've waited around 20 years to get one.

She's doing really well, accepting Ruby as the main dog, she's the black mini schnauzer in the second pic.

The other two are finding her a bit boisterous, but things are settling down as she finds out what is expected of her.

* I think the cool film Run Lola, Run. Everyone else thinks, 'She was a showgirl, her name was Lola....' Apologies for the earworm!

Somewhere between 58 - 65 cms at the shoulder and around 55-60lbs. She was a shade smaller than her sister, but that doesn't mean much at the moment.

Bugslet, they are both lovely. Today, there's a person coming to my house to speak with my husband about the library we keep for a society he belongs to, so I thought it would be good to get our dog out of the house for the day. Here she is, gnawing on a pig's ear under my desk. Low and behold the MD came in so I had to tell him she was here, but he's okay with it having known her since she was 14 months old. Had there been a problem, the back of my 4wd is kitted out like a mobile kennel so all would have been fine.

Ruby often sleeps under my desk, unfortunately Lola is in love with Ruby and has decided to join her. Not a lot of space now.

It's really nice having an "office dog" for a day. She is currently in the main open office somewhere "looking after things". I do have to tell the men not to stroke her as, if they do, when they stop she will bark. Will try to get another sneaky pic. At least she is small (size of a cocker).

What a sweet little dog. She is lovely and I like the name, showgirl or not.

She is lovely. I keep saying if we get another dog who is female I will call her Lola. I am thinking of The Kinks song though
