Gooood morning and happy Monday one and all,
Grey clouds covering the city here, the usual.
I had a lovely weekend at the caravan over the weekend, we all did. The weather was perfect, not a drop of rain which was surprising. Our views looked out over Firth of Clyde and directly onto Ailsa Craig with it's little lighthouse. We played games, drank some whisky and ate plenty of lovely food. Bliss.
Back to reality now. My manager is off for the next 2 days so I'll do my best to have my eggs in a row for his return. I'm playing football with my work colleagues for the first time tonight too which I'll treat as a sort of team building exercise which should be good.
Slowly - Lovely to hear of some good customer service. It still exists, who knew?!
Lainey - Sounds like a lovely moment yesterday. It'll make the cake extra special.0 -
Morning, Hugs if you need one.
Sorry I did not post yesterday, I wrote a really long post, it got eaten up.
Washing on, bed stripped, I am about to put the dyson over it, OH is moaning about some ?bites, I am not getting bitten so not sure whats going on. He has to have something to moan about or he is not happy.
Heating going fine, read the meter this morning but the dozy things at SSE have not set the account up on line for me to put reading in, so had to phone. I read the meters every Monday the E7 was very low today, its no longer heating a tank of hot water overnight.
Time to go and get on.................0 -
Morning all,
Cold here today but with a good breeze have a load in the wm which I will hang out for a while.
We had such a lovely day at dd's graduation yesterday I was so proud and spent a lot of the day in tears :rotfl: we came back here afterwards and lit the fire and had a houseful of people popping in and out throughout the day, it was really enjoyable.
Back to reality today and I need to pop back to Mr T and return a 12 pack of dog food which said in gravy on the package and is actually in jelly, Evie wont eat the jelly one so no point keeping it, dd has a load or parcels to send back so we could do that too.
House is looking reasonable so doesn't need too much attention but will need to hoover through.
Have good days all xx
Hugs to Lainey and dear mum xx0 -
I've just experienced, for the first time, the dog's reaction to the postman, we were warned he was not keen.
This morning he was asleep on my lap under his blanket (his favourite place) when the postie arrived.
My letter box is double sided so the posties fingers were in no danger, but Winston launched himself off my lap from a standing start, slid across the laminate floor, cannoned in to the fish tank stand, righted him self, galloped along the hall, still wrapped in the blanket, barking ferociously. I'm in hot pursuit yelling 'don't touch my bloody post!'.
It enlivened up an otherwise dull morning.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Good afternoon chums ,sitting here at Dds with a nice cuppa made for me by my helpful grandson Mikey. I even persuaded him to do in advance some maths homework, not actually due in until 4th November, and he got 100% (its stuff his school put online which is so good as they get quite a kick out of the flag that come up and says 'Well Done Michael'
)
Jack the 16 year old has gone to his pals for the day and that only leaves Henry and Mikey ,so some HM soup and a sandwich is what they want for lunch so good job I brought some leek and tattie soup with me
Tomorrow and Wednesday DD has wangled a couple of lieu days off and we will take advantage of my English Heritage ticket as the boys are all on it and we will go to Dover Castle tomorrow, and Eltham Palace on Wednesday. We take a packed lunch with us, so a couple of cheap days out
I hope everyone is enjoying the half term break in the routine, I actually like them as the boys like to get out and about if we can, and if the weather is dry so much the better.
Glad you got to spend some more time with your Mum Lainey, its these memories that will keep your chin up when the time comes honey xx
To others who are in dark sad places I send <hugs > to as well and to the poories and ill folks I hope you fell better soon
Take care chums

And virtual hugs from me too EDIT LLW, sorry.
My day has been lovely. After my chin visit I only had to post a letter and buy some silver cleaner. I've spent a quiet time cleaning up the silver plated flatware from my mum, I'm so chuffed to have it all. Cleaning it was such a messy job though and it's rubbish on my hands.
After that I made the ratatouille. I haven't made it for ages and ages but I scoffed a plateful almost immediately, using one of my new old spoons. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I started the Mexican tortilla bake and will finish it off tomorrow.
Didn't do any marking or planning for Thursday. Must do better!
I contemplated cutting the grass one more time, thought better of it and have 'pencilled' it in for tomorrow.
Now I'll watch the sun go down, pour a G&T and do some TV catching up.0
