How were you planning to connect to t'Interweb if Wi-Fi is not available?0
-
OP Internet connections are WiFi or via Ethernet cable to a router .0

You'd need a model with a sim card slot, but then you'd also need a data sim and they can be costly if you need a lot of data?
What are you planning on using it for when you're out?0 -
As others have said you will need wifi from cafes and the like . Or a mifi or a tablet with a mdem /phone built in , but the last one is expensive to run and even on the likes of ebay not cheap too buy .0

thanks for replying,
i will be at a workshop so would have to use 3g/4g,
not sure if tablets/laptops have these,
ive used mobile phone on 3g, wondered if the tab/laptop
can be linked to that?
or would the data be eaten up?
or can you get another gadget to use tab/laptop to use the net?
i would be using it to check emails, ebay, facebook, need to do better0 -
It's possible to create a wifi hot spot with a 3/4g phone and let the tablet/laptop use that.
But, a lot of the networks don't allow it on most of the their plans, so you'd need to check what you have. And, yes, it will use the data included in whatever plan you have.
If you only want to use it for email, Fb, ebay can't you just use your phone? Then you'd be using the mobile sites which are less data heavy.0 -
