ParkingEye at Aldi

Well my town now has a spanking new Aldi store .... and ParkingEye parking "management" to go with it. (Previously it was a Scotmid store and parking management was a guy walking around the car park).
As per usual, the ParkingEye signage is woefully inadequate ... nothing like the Beavis case signage.
Main entrance signage as viewed when turning left into the car park.
Main entrance signage (!) as viewed when turning right (across traffic) into the car park.
T&Cs signage as viewed from the rear of a car.
T&Cs signage as viewed close up.
(I couldn't read the small print at all).
Thankfully this is in Scotland ... I guess I'll need to get some flyers printed.

Do you know if they have planning permission for the cameras and advertising consent for the signs?
Do you know if the original store planning approval had any stipulations such as, parking for shop customers only or for Joe pubic in general, and the parking time allowed by the planning authority?I married my cousin. I did look at the Council planning portal a while back. There were various planning consents there but I can't remember the specifics. As I recall, all the applications were granted.
These are the planning applications for the site address.
I can't find anything regarding parking management or time allowed.0 -
This isn't the new Aldi at Foresterhill, by any chance is it?0

No. I've linked the planning consents for the store in question.Coupon-mad wrote: »No advertising consent for any signs then?!
Not that I can see ... that doesn't mean there aren't other areas of the council site that cover advertising. There are some advertising consents on that link, but only for Aldi signs.0 -
Oops, my bad - missed that - but Aldi are introducing this nonsense in Aberdeen too.
Except it's the lovely people at UKPC we are getting.
Perhaps the PE ANPR cables won't stretch as far as from Aberdeen to Chorley. :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Was talking with a colleague today (he lives not far from me). On Saturday there was an organised bonfire and fireworks display in the local park. He tells me that the Aldi car park was rammed full ... chances are that the occupants of several of the vehicles attended this event; so I expect that some of these may well end up with unexpected communications from ParkingEye.
I've sent him the link to the NEWBIES FAQ, so if anyone he knows gets such communication they'll know where to come.0 -
Just thought I'd update the forum to say that I've written an email to the local newspaper about car parking at the new Aldi store, and provided a link to the NEWBIES FAQ for more information.0
