Hi guys.
Going to Thorpe Park for fright night tomorrow. Aiming to get there and parked for 10am when the park opens. Any idea what time I should leave Birmingham to get there? Google maps says it takes 1 hour 58 but thats with no traffic. Would leaving at 7am be wise? Just wanted the opinion of someone who may have more experience than I.
Thanks

I'd say 3hrs plus, its going to be the last few miles that will possibly be a problem on the M25. Also to complicate things its half term so the traffic is unpredictable it could be much lighter than normal but that part of the M25 is usually pretty congested at that time. It won't really matter if you are a bit later if you are going for the 2 day package you won't miss too much .#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

the normal route would be M42 M40 M25 to thorpe park now at 7.00am you may have a fairly easy run with some traffic or you may have a complete nightmare
it only takes one incident to bring your journey to a grinding halt and the M25 near heathrow can be a total nightmare at anytime of the day
without a crystal ball it would be very difficult to say how long your journey would take0 -
I'd say an hour earlier, or give up on the hope of 10am. You're going to be doing the full length of M40, then the Heathrow M25 stretch, all in Monday morning peak traffic. Not fun.0

Thanks all. Only going for the 1 day so will try my best to get there for 10am ideally.0

On Google maps you can set the time and date you want to arrive by and it will use previous data to estimate traffic. It has been pretty accurate when I have used it in the past and does take into account of Bank Holidays and School Holidays traffic.
To arrive at 10am it says to leave at 7:20am if your using the M40 or to leave at 6:20am if your using the M1.0 -
I'd be leaving at 06:30. M40 is fast but M25 will be painful.0
