My husband and I are going away for a few nights in Cardiff in a week. Train tickets have been booked but I've not been so organised with the hotel. Was going to book premier inn, but the prices have jumped so have been looking at last minute .com and am intrigued by one of the secret hotel deals they have on offer. Have others found the secret hotels in the UK to be good, and have the descriptions been accurate? (The comments suggest that the hotel is convenient for the station that we'll be arriving in, but a shaded area of the map indicates a significantly larger area)

Presumably you'll be arriving at Cardiff Central and I agree the area that the map suggests the hotel could be in covers numerous hotels!
What area of Cardiff were you thinking of? By I mean we're you after the Bay Area or the centre?0 -
I ended up taking a bit of a gamble and booking the mystery hotel, which I'm pleased with, but thank you for your reply, gettingtheresometime.0

A trick with those 'secret' hotels is to use the description to search for it. As the descriptions are usually taken from the hotels website, you can just google a line or 2 and usually find the hotel in question. You can then check it out on tripadviser to see if it's any good.
Looks like the one in Cardiff for next week is the Royal Hotel
If the one you've booked is
Stylish Historical 3* Hotel In The Centre Of Cardiff. This property is one of Cardiff’s oldest hotels, set close to the gates of the Millennium Stadium and within easy walking distance of the city’s shops, galleries and bars.
Then this is it
