Can MBNA money transfers be made from my MBNA card to a friends bank account?

But if you do not have a direct debit set up then they would not have your bank details. Doh!

It should be possible, but I am not 100% sure, My MBNA money transfer was done to my nationwide bank account with no question asked and I dont pay by DD nor register the card with them, all they asked was the account number and the sort code, money was there in 2days. I am 100% sure you can do it with barclaycard.

  • Hello everyone! First time poster here :)

I have a question around money transfers. I am trying to sort all my debt out, I have an overdraft on an account I don't use anymore, I want to get rid as I keep getting hit with charges. One of my options was to do a money transfer, I have a balance transfer card with MBNA which also gives cash transfer as an option. Currently, the balance I transferred is 0% until Feb 2020.

The money transfer offer I have is 0% until some time in 2018, then the interest will kick in. But how does this work along side the balance transfer I already have with them? Will this mean that then the balance I transferred (over £3k) will also get the interest added?

Hoping someone knows the answer! :)

Payments will be allocated to the two balances in accordance with the terms of the card.

    What do they say?
  • Taken from my statement online:

Your payments are not allocated to paying off specific transactions but to reduce balances with the highest rates first before balances at
lower rates, regardless of when the transactions making up those balances were made. The current total balance is at your statement
date shown on page 1, and therefore will not include any account activity after this date. It is made up of any promotional and/or
standard rate balances. Balances will include any applicable handling fees, card fees, non-sterling transaction fees, service charges,
    default sums and interest.

If I understand this correctly, if I was to complete a cash transfer of say £600, and then over the next two years continue to make all my payments on time, I will start paying interest on my whole balance in 2018. Even though my balance transfer was interest free until 2020?

No. . Any promo will remain on the promo rate until its expiry, unless you breach the terms.
