Northern Rock Mortgage

I am one of the unfortunate customers who received a mortgage with Northern Rock then became NRAM.

My house has tripled in price over the first 10 years of a 25 year mortgage, also my wages have considerably increased. Yet when I try either going straight to NRAM or go to other lenders I am denied flatly to either change my deal or move over. It is as if I am stuck over a barrel with no power to move to a better deal, the only option is to sell; which I do not want to do.

What can anyone recommend, do I go to my local MP (which I have never done in my life)? Or is there a different way to go about this to find a better deal?

But what reason do other lenders give for not offering you a mortgage?

Is it something to do with the property? (e.g. non-standard construction.)

Or is it something about you? (e.g. poor credit history, self employed etc)
