We'll agree to disagree but I don't suggest the OP puts figure up here-we are not qualified or have the correct info & skill to advise on correct figures. I'm not encouraging fibbing at all (or covering it up with with 'niceties' whatever that means). WHAt I've said is not 'night & day'-just asking the OP to seep proper help to make sure her budget is realistic. Having been through the BR process & getting said advice I was woefully low on my houskeeping, forgot about garage servicing, etc....all of which Step Change will go through with a fine toothcomb. The OP would be being completely honest if she sought the right, professional advice. Lets say she said 'ok....I can feed myself & 7 year old for £120 a month' -even if she could (doubtfull!) & cooked lentils every day & survived on beans/egg on toast Step Change would advise the figure was not realistic & advise to increase it. Thats the point I'm making, not to fiddle or defraud.

We're all trying to help the OP & your imput adds to the the thread & we all have opinions as it's an open forum. I do hope you see where I'm coming from....to old for arguing lol!

Luvchocolate....not saying there are not experienced guys/gals on here. Just easier for the OP to go through one channel-ie Step Change (or other debt charity but step change are on the money & bang up to date) as I did-leass confusing than having one set of figures on here & another advised by Step Change.
