the mobility component has no effect on council tax support or housing benefit. it's the care component that makes the difference0

I also get the enhanced care component a well.0

hi yes i do have a high mortgage thanks to my ex husband who took money from the mortgage and raised it from £40k buy to now £14000 mortgage which i found out after he ran off and left me in this mess so my monthly payments are £1200 mortgage each month and he is sitting in a housing association flat all rent paid and council tax and has £1200 each month to live on it makes me so angry as there is nothing i can do i have been to a solicitors and nothing. I am also hanging on to the house by the skin of my teeth as i am in arrears of £4000. If i sell the house i will never get another mortgage and to rent would cost me the same as i pay each month here and that is if i can find a house that has the disabled adaptions that i have done here for my self and the boys. The council has also said that if i sell my house i have made myself and my boys homeless and will not help me with re homing us as well as if my house gets repossessed the same applies i am at the end of my tether and feel every day like ending my life and taking my boys with me as what will they do on there own there is no family for me to call on and every way i turn there is no help what is the point anymore??0

Deborah,
How do you manage to claim WTC - on earnings of £5 per week ?
I thought that, even as a disabled claimant - you had to work for 16 hours per week ?
I am disabled and working 10 hours per week but am not entitled to claim any WTC0 -
Hi i get working tax credit as i do Avon for friends and family and work only 16 hours a week doing this but my earning are poor as i have said but it gives me something to focus on at least and i have made many friends from this who are also grateful for the chat. I would love to work in the community and see people but i cannot so i am stuck in these four walls day in day out.0

From gov.UK:
If you’re self-employed
Some self-employed people are not eligible for Working Tax Credit. To qualify, your self-employed work must aim to make a profit. It must also be commercial, regular and organised.
This means you may not qualify if you don’t:
make a profit or have clear plans to make one
work regularly
keep business records, eg receipts and invoices
follow any regulations that apply to your work, eg having the right licence or insurance
If the average hourly profit from your self-employed work is less than the National Minimum Wage, the Tax Credit Office may ask you to provide:
business records
your business plan - find out how to write a business plan
details of the day-to-day running of your business
evidence that you’ve promoted your business, eg advertisements, flyers

I wasn't questioning the validity of your business. Just posting general info about WTC eligibility.

If you qualify its definately worth claiming SMI , we sent the forms off around November and yesterday we got a letter saying it had gone through and after the backdated adjustments we were over £700 in credit which will be applied to this next bill. So effectivly no council tax to pay this year .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I coctacted the local council & the young lady said it sounds as though I can apply but it will be only back dated for 1 month...My Pip has been backdated from 9th September this year & a large amount of money has been put into my bank account today,? Is she correct ?
How were you paying your rent and Council tax before your PIP award?0
