cintiq isn't fit for purpose; very stressed/need to return

Hello
If I could please ask advice about returning Cintiq and stand to Amazon. It arrived this morning and I'm shocked how unfit for purpose it is. The touch/rotate and tbh overall features don't work well.
After a large amount of money coming through, I'd been keen to commit much more to art, in the hopes of eventually being able to go professional from home, while first hopefully recovering my health, and had felt upgrading from (small) ipad would be a really responsible move. I have art qualifications, sold work, ran an art class etc previously, and am distressed to realise the cintiq is something that will only hinder me, despite having researched/watched a lot of youtube reviews etc before buying. Had ordered from Amazon, and couldn't know until unpacking it how much I'd find it just not fit for purpose. It's too much money to lose (over £2000 with the stand), upset.
I searched on the forum and found one other thread about returning a cintiq, and the man eventually received a refund but had a terrible time. I am disabled and it's difficult to cope. Would very much appreciate advice. Thank you, Cat

Just return it.
You don't have to give Amazon a reason other than you don't want it, if it only arrived today.
Amazon will refund without fuss.
Just don't do it too often if you want to remain their customer....0 -
Well, first of all you need to clearly define what you mean by "fit for purpose" because the purpose of the stand is (presumably) to hold another object (like this) Is the item incapable of serving this function? Also, is your disability factoring into your opinion of how fit it is for purpose? The item may be perfectly fit for purpose but you just can't use it properly because of your disability (much like someone with one arm may struggle to use swimming goggles in a pool).
Secondly, can't you just cancel the order and return it? I'm sure someone much wiser will come along to explain in more detail, but you need to be looking at the Consumer Contract Regulations for more information.
I would steer clear from the Sales of Goods Act and items not being fit for purpose, unless it is actually true. Your post kind of comes across as a change of mind more than anything.
Hello, not a change of mind ... been a very distressing day, where I discovered the item is unusable to progress art, as I described, and I really wouldn't have bought it if unable to use it. It's just not a good device, and I really did research, but thanks for advising re Regulations etc.0 -

Thank you SO much, Moneyineptitude. Really appreciate. First time anything like this has happened and have certainly learnt to be even more careful in the future ... don't want to go through this again or inconvenience Amazon. Glad it can be sorted. Thanks again!
EDIT: thanks again ... just arranged collection. Huge relief!0
