Minor car accident, no damage/injuries
Hi,
This afternoon I was stationary at McDonald's drive thru, while the vehicle in front of me decided to reverse into me. I always make sure I leave enough space in front, as I expect this to happen due to lack of awareness from other drivers. I also started beeping the second I saw them start reversing. They still hit my car. I looked at the front of my car and the back of his and couldn't see any damage to the body work.
My car cost me £400 about 18 months ago, and I believe my excess is £95 + £195 for young drivers (24 and under) with Hastings. They were driving a 2015 plate Merc.
The driver gave me his contact info (name, address, phone no.) with no problems. Didn't say it was my fault or his (I didn't really know what to do tbh, just made sure I got their details).
I don't want to make a claim because I will lose my no claims bonus (1 year currently, trying to build it up). And I will have to pay the £290 excess.
Do I still notify the insurance of the incident? I have just read of someone reporting an accident like this and being tagged as "in an accident" resulting in their insurance premium going up. Don't want that to happen.
People can't just go round reversing into people and getting away with it

If you're not at fault you won't lose no claim or pay any excess.
If there's no damage or injury there's not accident, so what would you claim for?
As for informing your insurance about the incident, that's a matter for you to decide.0 -
It was just a minor bump, not an accident. Nothing to report, move along.0

you should have asked him to buy your lunch and you would forget it, don't report it just let it go.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Cover your back, this person might come back with injury claims, a couple thousand £ will save him a couple months worth of his finance/PCP.
The people who buy these cars (new merc), usually cannot actually afford them, they're the kind of people who'd find a wallet in the street and not try to get it returned to the owner.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Oh so now not only can Mercedes drivers not afford their cars they're now criminals too? Let's see your evidence for that claim.0 -

Can you provide figures to back this up please?
EDIT * Didn't come up with the above post before I posted?! Weird.0
