Do First Direct offer withdraw cards for their savings accounts?

I've got numerous savings accounts with First Direct, using all of them for different savings goals. However, I just opened one with Barclays too, and I aim to 'save the change' into it really from my debit card spends.

I received my card today, and I probably won't use it to withdraw from, but I appreciate the sort code and account number being there for if I want to transfer direct to there. Yet with First Direct, I have to log in from a computer to see the account numbers and things. I'm just wondering if they do offer a withdraw card for any of their savings accounts?

If you're looking to maximise savings why are you bothering with accounts like that when you can do so much better with interest paying current accounts? You also get full debit card and current account functionality.

My income at the moment is very variable at the moment, so sometimes I feel like I won't meet the monthly criteria. I want to upgrade my Barclays account to Barclays Blue for their £7 a month reward, but I'm unsure at the moment if I'll be able to pay in £800 per month. I do have the two direct debits though

How much do you have in savings? If it's £800 or £400 or even £200 you can easily meet that requirement.

Seems like you're better placed than many of us here to find out then.

    However, here you are...

On their website, FD offer 5 savings accounts...a cash ISA (not what you're looking for), a regular saver (doesn't meet your criteria), a fixed rate account (no withdrawals allowed obviously), and two ordinary savings accounts. In the summary boxes for these ordinary savings accounts, both say withdrawals only by transfer to your 1st account.

My savings at the moment is about £12.. :rotfl: Although I'm starting a new part time job in a few weeks which I'm aiming to save back up again from it, so if I save that up then I shall certainly look into it. Club Lloyds looked quite good as well for interest rates

Yeah I do have their Cash ISA but I knew that one wouldn't have a card, then I have the bonus account and the regular one as well. But that makes sense, thank you

When I have a more stable income, I plan to start a regular saver with them

I have had a card for an easy Access Saver with FD which could be used to draw money via ATM. Haven't used it for some years, so it may not still be valid / available.
Worth phoning them up and asking, the people answering are generally knowledgable and helpful.

First Direct used to provide ATM cards for some savings accounts, but they discontinued them for new accounts many years ago, and cancelled all the cards for existing customers, last year (I think it was). I got a letter from them telling me not to use the card after a certain date because it would no longer be valid.
