October Holiday Help

I'm looking for a Oct/very early November holiday, 7 days, within 4/5 hrs max, AI.
Biggest problem Im finding is actually WHERE to go. It is mainly for a rest from work (near beach, hot weather) but not so quiet as to be the only soul there!
I've come up with decent Greek Island prices but not sure about the reliabiltiy of the weather.
Any location advice would be much appreciated.

Have you looked at any of the cheap holiday websites yet? Greatlatedeals and Teletext holidays are a good place to start.
Cyprus or Canaries are a fairly safe bet, but you may have to go further afield (such as Egypt) for reliable hot weather! I've been to Tenerife in November and the weather was very warm but a bit odd because of a scirroco (sp) or something.
What sort of price have you in mind/any preference of airport? Is it just you travelling?
Cyprus looks like a good bet for October. The nights will be cooler, so you might want to take a light sweater/sweatshirt but it's still warm enough to swim and sunbathe in the daytime (unlike December, when I went many years ago!)
Looks like it's cheaper to fly to Larnaca than Paphos if you're going from Manchester, but the best deals always seem to leave from London airports!:wave:0 -
I would say Cyprus or Carnaries rather than Greece for October.
Or better still Egypt, still very warm in October.0 -
menocra /majorca or one of the canary islands

I would say egypt was your best best.
Luxor or Cairo have very dependable weather and you can either chill out or have LOADS of very good sightseeing practically on your doorstep e.g. pyramids in Cairo or Temples in Luxor.
They also have the advantage of being quite relatively cheap.0 -
Dose anyone know of any cheap flights for Larnaca in the next few days from london airports for a week0

Actually that reminds me, what is Turkey like October?0

It's nice at the moment in Turkey (or at least parts of it)
I just returned home a few days ago from Hisaronu and it was 40 degrees during the day and 23 degrees in the evening.
Apparently the Aegean Coast is warmer in the later months though, maybe somebody else can confirm this?0 -

No the med coast is warmer in the winter months as it more southern. The resorts served by Antalya airport are the mildest in winter.
The next is the Turquoise coast served by Dalaman.
The Aegean coast served by Bodrum & Kussadassi would be the coldest.0
