  • My Property bridging loans through savingstream pay a fixed fee of 12%.

Next up is ratesetter paying out 6.5% fixed for the next 4 years although these rates are no longer available for reinvestments.

    Tsb currently pays 5%.

I have a number of funds that pay 3-4% returns too.

i hope its ok to post this, but i am also looking for a savings account for my 19 year old daughter. she has a lump sum that she needs to put into the best account. she wont be adding to it so its a 1 off pay in. she also needs easy access if she needs to withdrawl it.

In a bank 5% with TSB and Nationwide.

    In P2P 12%.
  • 1.5% on the 123 account. Was 3% so getting £50 back a month. Now £25+

All well and good saying you have 5-6% etc but that's irrelevant if the max saving allowed is like 2-3k.

It's highly relevant when the question asked was very clearly "whats the highest interest rate you have in your portfolio?" ;)

It's also well and good quoting 3% when you are likely to get less due to the fees and if you have under £20k that will be a significant drop.

5% is possible on around £30k.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

a current account, such as those referred to here christine. there are options with much better rates than instant access savings accounts. looks at TSB, LLoyds, Nationwide.. but two things: firstly rates are changing at the moment, downwards, so it is a moving target. and secondly you may need to ensure your daughter has a couple of small Direct Debits set up on the account to qualify. this may seem like more work than you want, but it also may be very useful for her to learn and understand how such things work. small DDs could be into savings accounts, for example. i don't know how proficient she is with banking and financial matters, of course.

With interest rates so low at the moment, just wondering whats the highest interest rate you have in your portfolio?
    My highest in S&S ISA is Co-op Bank 11% Sub 2023 (42RQ).

Current price is 81.75 so running yield is 13.45% but it is not for widows, orphans or those with a nervous disposition! ;) I am 26% down in initial investment.
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.
