Edit, for fruit and veg there's the green grocer, Inverurie. I don't know if they deliver to you or if your out that way but they do fruit and veg boxes at quite a good price.
Thanks, I didn't know there was a butcher in the Castlegate!
I used to go to the one in the Green but it disappeared a few years ago now. I live in town and I do drive but I'm not often out at Inverurie. Good to know for the odd time I go to Thainstone though!“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Surprising really when so many people have fridges and freezers. A little forethought during winter time keeping staples like crackers or crispbreads in storecupboards would enable most people to get by for a couple of days in a weather emergency .
Frankly I'd be be far more worried about running out of toilet rolls in our household :rotfl:
Incidentally did everybody see the feature on Breakfast TV this morning advising that despite popular belief, Wet Wipes ARE NOT FLUSHABLE and are causing hundreds of sewage blockages in the country every week because they do not completely dissolve.0 -

The secret to not running out of loo rolls is to buy a small pack of a colour that clashes with your bathroom. Having to look at a roll of that when you've run out of your usual white will remind you to put it on the list for your next shop. And hide a roll somewhere only you know about.0 -
Yeah, if you walk through the Castlegate it's on your left just before the roundabout to go to the beach, opposite the high rises. It's been there a lot of years, but hidden away there a bit.
I know a few butchers have closed over the years, there used to be a good butcher in Torry. I've been to the tilly butcher once, they do packs as well, he has some different things. The kids wanted to try irn bru sausages, they were surprisingly nice.0 -

Irn bru?? Those sound interesting! I like the stuff but in a sausage?“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. Something to remember about the cost of food prices is that even home produced foods will be more expensive to produce. For agriculture we need a total infrastucture of roads, transport, manufacturing of packaging, buying and maintaining farm equipment, fertilisers fuel for heating and equipment. In WW2 despite rationing and 'Dig for Victory' we still did not manage to supply enough food for the country. No way will farmers markets be able to replace all our imported goods.
This is interesting reading from the Food and Drink Federation on the impact of the referendum. (I won't say brexit as we haven't left and I pray that the politicians will listen to industry and tell the country where our best interests lay)
Edited. I'm not allowed to post links yet, google FDF business confidence survey October 2016'Get Brexit done' is a lie[

I know, sounds weird and I wasn't sure but they were really nice. I think he has a Facebook page, sure that's where my son heard about them. He has heaps of things to choose from 5 things for £20 I think it was. Worth a look.
