after all the negatives some people have given northern rock who forgot apparent fact that its mega high share price achieved flotation-feb 2007 was due to it being exceptionally lean and well run so i believe mr applegarths message to its savers deserves its own thread
northern rock shareholders should remember the excellent dividends we have received up till now

prices are well below flotation *now* (which is the only time that counts) though, and 10 years later.
not so well run after all, eh?0

I suspect that those who paid £12 per share only to see them trading at £2.82 today will not feel too benevolent towards Mr Applegarth.bristolleedsfan wrote: »after all the negatives some people have given northern rock who forgot apparent fact that its mega high share price achieved flotation-feb 2007 was due to it being exceptionally lean and well run so i believe mr applegarths message to its savers deserves its own thread

Yes, you can remember the "excellent dividends" that you have enjoyed up until now. And if you still hold the shares you will now be starting to pay for those dividends I guess.0

speculators and those with vested interests often cause share prices to go into freefall, like :money: said pity mr darlings announcement today wasnt made on friday.
to next poster do u believe that people actually bought NR shares at 12.00 a share
why will i ever be "starting to pay for the excellent dividends received so far" when the NR shares were free, northern rock gave all its savers the same amount of free shares not so that the rich got richer and NR share handout was double that to most the other building society conversions to plc. i.e 500 shares against 250 elsewhere.
the most bradford and bingleys share handout has been worth is about the same as northern rocks handout is worth now, that puts things into some perspective imo
will be interesting to see what northern rock share price Stabalises at w/e0

plenty of people, pension funds, individual investors, and others, will have paid that price, millions of shares change hands daily.0

Someone had to buy them at £12 or others couldn`t have sold them at that.
For every seller there must be a buyer!0
