    As other posters have mentioned, just tell them the truth and nothing but the truth and you will be ok.

    The person you speak to will be very well trained in spotting when someone is telling porkies and will cross check everything.

    If you tell them the truth then they will not catch you out.

    Don't be afraid to make notes before hand of prices you paid and from where to jog your memory. Insurance staff love paperwork so they'll probably want a copy.

    If you tell them the truth and have a valid claim, your claim will be settled.
