    Honestly, I've never actively asked them to repair it. I've always remained staunch in my refund request. But I suppose by never outright refusing the repair, I've allowed it.
    I was told over the phone that any refund request would involve full testing and repair, just to make sure they knew what the problem was and that it was fixable. (Refurbishment and recouping their losses were hinted at but not explicitly mentioned).
    Unfortunately that was all said over the phone and I have no record of it. Ho hum.

    Thank you everyone for all of your help. For now I'll accept the return - I had already decided to mention refunding if the same issue occcurs so I'll do just that, quoting the above.

    And I suppose I always have the option to sell the damn thing!
