Your new computer needs to have a program installed on it so that it knows about the printer. This sort of program is called a "driver". Usually when you buy a printer you get a CD with the driver program on it. If you have that CD you can insert it into the CD drive of the laptop, and follow the ensuing instructions.

If you do not have the CD, the "driver" program can be downloaded from the Epsom web site.

Yes I do have a cd that came with the printer but when I try to use it it will not work, as for downloading and installing drivers I would'nt have a clue unless someone would be kind enough to in very simple language explain to me how to do this. Thanks Ieel I have learnt a bit already.

This is the driver here released 28 Dec 2015 that you need to download to your PC and then install to get your printer to communicate with your Windows10 PC.

This Epson webpage here explains step by step with pictures how to download and install the printer driver and will be more useful than the general Microsoft page quoted below as the Epson driver is self install.
Expand Downloading from Epson Europe at the bottom.

Assumption that you are connected to (or are able to connect to) Internet on the basis that your Windows 7 laptop updated by downloading the requisite software.

Now, follow THIS link for an explanation of how to update drivers. It is likely that the printer CD would not have a driver for Windows 10 as the printer would have been manufactured before Windows 10 was conceived.
