CyberSource Address Verification System - transaction declined

I just tried to order some presents from Hotel Chocolat and got this message:
Is this anything to worry about?
The authorization request was approved by the issuing bank but declined by CyberSource because it did not pass the Address Verification System (AVS) check.
Is this anything to worry about?

Yes. Change your cards and the locks on your house. You cannot be too careful. Also get a copy of your credit report while you are at it.0

Hmmm. It was actually a serious question. I've never heard of this AVS check before and wanted to know if the decline could be indicative of a problem that I needed to sort. Anyway, I've tried the transaction again today and it's gone through so I guess it was just a glitch.0

It means that CyberSource are ultra-cautious (perhaps with good cause) and prefer to decline your business rather than take the risk of sending the goods to an address they cannot, for whatever reason, verify. Did the address that you entered on their website correspond exactly to the billing address for the card?0
