Lots of websites seem to be down at the moment - ryanair, paypal, digitalspy, guardian, even some of the websites that check if a website is down.

Russian aircraft carrier off the coast ..Now spotify is down..This really looks like the end for the western world.

I rebooted my router a number of times, thinking that it might the problem.
Then I noticed it seemed to be to do with DNS lookup, so thought my ISP's server might be broken, so I changed to Google DNS which seemed better, but some sites still weren't working.
Then I changed to Open DNS, and everything was working again.

Nice to know it wasn't my equipment anyway. But worrying that the internet can be disrupted so easily.

Joking aside we don't route our transatlantic cables through the North Sea or the Channel.

It was just some script kiddies DDoSing (again.)

DNS apparently needs more resilience.
