Credit report confused

Hi All
I was wondering if i could get some help please. Ive looked at mine and my husbands credit reports and we have files that im fine with and understand well. However one I'm stuck with.
we got into financial difficulty and with ill health we handed back our keys to our house. we had a secure loan out on this. This is the one that's confusing me. On our report it shows closed with a balance of 0 and last updated in nov 2012 (year our house was sold on) we haven't paid any money to this since 2012. So how can it be 0?
any theories would be gratefully received.
hoping to get ourselves out of debt and if this had "disappeared" it would half our 30k debts.
thanks in advance
xxx

There are three main credit reference agencies.A lender might report to any one of them:Callcredit,Equifax, and Experian. So best to check them all.
    SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
    Pinecone £301,Valued Opinions £10.50

you have to pay for those though don't you? ive had my free trials at some point last year on Experian and Equifax. not the other one though.
as ive had no contact from original lender nor a collection company would you advise I just leave it till they contact me and concentrate on the other debts we have?
is it possible with the sale of the house its been wiped since it was secured against the house?
these may be ridiculous questions.... I'm sorry lol x

Call Credit is free via Noddle.

You need to find out if the debt still exists, especially they decide to seek a CCJ. Do they have your current address?
  • Yes I had a letter to new house not long after moving in so the original creditors know my address. It's all a bit odd. Lol

Are you on the electoral roll at the new property?

Possible that the creditor holding the debt hasn't linked you yet to the old address.

I presume there was a mortgage and a secured loan on the property. The mortgage lender would have taken the lead in selling the property after you walked away from it.

You need to find out what it sold for and how the funds were allocated. The mortgage would have been cleared first, then the secured loan, then any surplus returned to you.
  • yes on the electoral roll.
there was a shortfall of 5k on he mortgage after selling the house which we are currently making payment to so unfortunately nothing to give to secured loan company or ourselves.
