1 week holiday in april 08 - where?!

Very strange situation here. I am considering going on holiday somewhere in april 08, the problem is I'm not sure where. I have so many places that I think would be good but keep changing my mind about where to go.

Australia
New york
Asia somewhere
.... more

They all appeal to me.

I'm sure that i want to go somewhere far way, e.g. not in Europe.

Sunny would be good, with things to do. Not sure about costs. I'm just confused about what to do.

Length for about one week
Cost Less than 7-800 squid

Also where can I book these holidays online? Any recommended places?

Thanks everyone.

Personally I would cross Australia off your list for now. It's a wonderful country but you would not be able to appreciate anything about it if all you have is a week. Don't forget that the flight is best part of 24 hours and you cross time zones so you lose time that way as Oz is between 8 and 12 hours in front of us depending where you go, and you WILL be jet-lagged. Also April is their Autumn. Save Oz for a time when you can do it more leisurely, I would suggest nothing less than a month if you want to travel around and see as much as you can.

Think about how long a flight you would consider for a week's holiday, you don't want to spend too much of your time in the air. Then see which countries you can get to within that flight time. Once you've come up with some countries you can google for further information on weather in April and things to do/places to go.

Or maybe get the weekend papers, some of them have travel sections which can be very helpful.

Looking at this myself. Weather will be close to perfect in April.

Expedia are currently showing 7 nights at the Paris hotel for £799 with direct flights (BMI from Manchester). That's Sun - Sun (arrive back in UK Mon morning).
Leave Man at 10.40 & you're in Vegas for lunch! Also if you could stretch a little, hire a car & take yourself off into the desert, or even the Grand Canyon.

Direct flights last about 10 hours. Jetlag shouldn't kick in until you get home so it won't affect your holiday.
