Claiming Refund - Where to now?

Hi all. Who do I go to, to claim a refund, when the company won't return messages etc.?
I paid to attend an event back in September, and the "contract" stated if I cancelled at least a week before the event, I would get a full refund.
I had to cancel, and advised 16 days before the day of the event. Company were fine, and advised they were doing refunds the day before the event.
I have since be chasing the refund with excuses and poor reasons why the refund hasn't taken place, and now I seem to be speaking to a brick wall. Its been a month since they first promised my refund.
I'm not one for bad mouthing people on Social Media etc., I just want my (and my friends) money back.
Is there a company or legal service who can help, or is it a case of solicitors now?

How did you pay and how much was the payment for?0

You could take them to court. You'd need to send a "letter before action" to warn them of this, and then make sure you precisely follow the court/claim procedure.

How did you pay, Credit card/ debit card/ cheque/cash?
I would find their head office address, and write to them one last time requesting your refund, paper and pen, registered mail.0 -
Its about £130, which I know isn't a lot to some. It was a BACS payment.0

It was a BACS payment.
ouch!
You can't claim through S75 so you need to send a Letter Before Action to them ASAP stating what you want (full refund of £130 as you cancelled according to their T&Cs which promised a full refund) and when - give them (say) 14 working days, if they don't refund within this time then you will escalate to small claims where the amount you're claiming will increase to include cost of bringing claim.
Give them a method by which to refund you (ie by BACS or by cheque) - BACS might be best as it was the form the original payment was made and you won't have to wait for a cheque to clear.
Google Money Claim Online beforehand so you're fully aware of the process and what evidence you will need should it progress to court.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Thanks! Yes, I know BACS wasn't the best way. The event went ahead etc., so it's not like they were never going to do it, and they do quite a few events. I have sent them an email as per your suggestion, and I guess I wait again. I have used Smalls Claims before so if nothing in 14 days, I shall go that route.0
