I am also a beginner to sell my unwanted stuff as a private seller on ebay.

However, I would like to know the privacy of my personal data.

I don't want my full name and personal home address are displayed in public. Do the seller use the PO box for their the address?

As a private seller on eBay your address details are not shown. Only sellers who are registered as a Business Seller with eBay have their address shown.

I don't think eBay will put your details anywhere people can see them, but you will need to write a return address on the packages in case they cannot be delivered.

I have received an offer (and posted in the offers thread) of 100 listings with a 1p FVF.
what is the opinion of ebay users or indeed fact from ebay about cancelling existing listings (no bidders) and re-listing during the promo?
I don't want to risk my account but am also new so don't know what does/doesn't impact the seller dashboard.
    thank you.

I always do that and did not have any problem (I only have 2 to 3 items listed any time though).

As long as you have no bids on them you are fine to cancel.

    hi.
I am confused as to the protocol for refunding. should I just do it or let the buyer start things off? I want FVF back and the best outcome for my account reputation.

as a seller which is the best way to refund a buyer so as not to have a negative effect on my seller account?
buyer has item but is having a problem, their first language isn't English so after 20 exchanges of messages I have just been asked the same question they asked on the first message.
I know the item is working but also now know buyer thought it was something it isn't.

I have spent all evening with messages trying my best but once buyer wanted me to phone them or them phone me I've had enough.

I am going to offer to refund. if I get the item back that's a bonus. can I simply offer them the refund then cancel the transaction through resolution center? will this get me my FVF back? or do I need them to start a refund claim, whats it called SNAD?

if I refund does their ability to leave feedback end?

    thank you.

However you refund, they can leave feedback. It is best to ask them to open a SNAD case as the transaction will be cancelled and you get your fees back all in one go. As long as you refund when they return the item you will not get any bad mark on your account. You will have to pay return post costs but if it is SNAD then you will have to anyway.

so there is no way for me as the seller to instigate the refund and still get the FVF back?

I have gone so far in the resolution centre refund process just to see.....

The buyer and I agree to cancel a transaction.....the buyer asked to cancel the order...after that I havn't clicked again in case that processes it.
would this process get me my FVF back?

    thanks so much.

The buyer can send the item back without opening a case and you can refund through a cancellation if within the time limit.

Or, the buyer can open a case and the refund can be done that way.

Both ways will mean you get your FVF back and neither will have a detrimental effect on your account.

Most buyers and sellers will prefer to use the resolution centre as that gives full transparency to the return.
