They have still said 6-8 weeks in a call today plus they do want readngs on switchover day and just to add to this, after a bad experience recently with British Gas, he's now switching to Online Energy Saver 4 for both gas and electric. The usage readings I helped him work out: the gas is based on 12 months of bills from September 2006-September 2007 - rather than his marginally lower usage from June 2006-June 2007 - using the Kw/H figures and the electricity is based on 9 months bills (includes the January-April bill so a winter quarter is included) plus an estimation (probably an over-estimation looking at it now but better over than under in my opinion) of the one quarter that was missing. I have also been taking weekly electricity meter readings and they seem to confirm current usage is currently under the annual figures we gave to them (to be expected I guess as the cold weather has yet to set in).

This switch to Online Energy Saver 4 has also resulted in payment figures for the Direct Debit being based on the meter readings given so for both electric and gas (annual electric usage and gas usage is multiplied by the tariff and divided by 12). Hope this makes sense and thanks for your info Terry!
