Gift aid agreement terms
I donate items to the local Red Cross shop and have always gift aided them. I recently received a letter asking me to sign an updated gift aid agreement but noticed a point in the t&cs that seemed a bit odd:
"We need to advise you that: ... in the unlikely event of a purchaser seeking recompense in relation to goods purchased, this will be your responsibility rather than the responsibility of Britcross."
I wouldn't knowingly donate something bad/dangerous but are they saying, hypothetically, that I'd have to refund someone for an item, or that I'd be liable if that item caused a problem (eg if an electrical item caused a fire)? Or am I just overthinking it?

I see problem with this and a electrical item. Charities mostly give items a electrical pat test before they sell the item. Now if they do the test and pass it, I would think all liabilities go over to said charity. The more I live, the more I learn.

Yeah, its a strange one. I think I'll email them. I just wondered if anyone else had noticed / thought about this. Thanks0
