Loans Credit Reference Agencies USED

Hello,

Can anyone tell me which loan companies just use Experian to check credit files as I have a good score with them and that doesnt seem to be translating to Call credit and Equifax. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Don't worry about the score. That won't make a blind bit of difference to anything.

Do you mean your credit histories show different things on the different CRAs? eg defaults on one and not the others?

Scores are irrelevant, it is the data that is important. Do the others show something amiss ?
  • No, for instance Call Credit is showing an account with A payday loan company which is an error. This is suppose to be removed in next 28 days but as its on the MODA instant update record all lenders can see it now if they search Call Credit for instance.

My Experian fine is very clean and Equifax shows alot of searches so would rather approach a lender who only looks at Experian.

    hope you can help

Santander use Experian (Just applied for a loan with them and saw Experian was the credit reference agency)...

    August 2019: £28.8k

    November 2020: £0 (0% interest)

Without knowing what type of loan you are after it's a little hard to give any meaningful advice.
It's probably worth noting that Lenders will often use more than one agency as each agency has their strengths and weaknesses stemming from the markets in which they have historically been most successful.

It is also worth noting that Lender's decision engines generally work on a waterfall principle which will potentially extend the number of third parties involved in the process based on responses received during the processing (often ordered by price)... which means that just because Santander used Experian (only?) for ryanm8655 doesn't mean that is the case for everyone.

Fortunately Lenders do need to indicate who the third parties they use are in the T&Cs so you should be able to get a pretty good idea by visiting websites and trawling through the terms and conditions.
