short-term breakdown cover?

We have got our renewal through for the RAC, however we are seriously thinking about getting a new car which could mean we get a free years breakdown cover upon purchase. So we don't want to tie in with a 2 year cover with anyone.

Does anyone know of any companies that other short term cover for a vehicle or have any other suggestions? We don't want to risk not having any cover as we are often travelling at night off main roads!

Thanks :)

With cover for as little as £30 for a year, theres probably not much of a saving to be had in trying to find someone who'll offer say, 6 months which might cost £25

Check out the main board for the best current deals - the AA renewals are far from competitive quotes. ;)

New car cover from the manufacturer is often not full cover, roadside and recovery to nearest dealership - check the wording. I have kept my full cover running which would get me all the way home and the car to my home town dealership. I would only use the manufacturer if close to home.
