Heated throws

I am always cold, especially in the evenings, and use a throw whilst watching tv. Sometimes I run myself a hot bath just to get warmed through. The house is one of the coldest I have ever lived in. No apparent reason for that. My husband, on the other hand, sits in a short sleeved shirt and moans about how hot it is. I am thinking about buying a heated throw for me (a larger one, not just a lap throw) and intend to turn the central heating down a bit to help with the running costs.

The prices seem to vary such a lot so I just wondered if anyone has had any good/bad experiences or recommendations. I would not want to use it on the bed.

Aldi usually sell them a few times a year. They are about £30.
My friend bought the Aldi one and he says it's good. You can wash them as well.
I got one in Dunlem Mills reduced a few years ago and my husband uses it while sitting on the sofa at night.

Got mine from amazon for £40. Its a Relaxwell, its machine washable and really cosy.

Have you considered talking to a doctor ? Sensitivity to the cold is one of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid gland. You can get a blood test to check

Picking up a point made by another poster, have you checked the temperature in the house (particularly the room where you sit to watch TV) using a reliable thermometer? Feeling a bit chilly is one thing, but saying you need to have a hot bath to warm up suggests a health issue.

Thanks for all your replies. I had a whole set of blood tests recently and I think thyroid was one of them. I will have a word with my doctor as I'm due to go for my pneumonia jab soon.

I keep looking in Aldi but nothing so far. We have two Aldi stores nearby and my husband pops in twice a week. I will look on Amazon and Argos too. I've also had Lakeland recommended so I will definitely get one soon.

If you check the website on a a wednesday (for thursday) and saturday (for sunday) - those are the days the special buys go on, might save you a trip

I bought my daughter the Aldi one last year she loves it .

I got one in Aldi last year too, I think it was around £28. Before I bought it I checked out the prices of others and Lakeland's prices were extorationate in comparison. The fabric on the Aldi one is so soft and cosy, it's often warm enough without plugging it in. I got the chocolate brown one btw.
