UKPC no contest response to POPLA appeal, then changed their minds 😏

Hi,

I've been using this site to help me with my parking dispute with UKPC, I lodged an appeal with POPLA and received acknowledgment of appeal, and then an e mail saying UKPC weren't contesting it and the matter was closed, this was yesterday..

Today I have received an e mail saying UKPC made a mistake and the case has been reopened? Can they do this?

I am absolutely fuming, as far as I'm concerned the matter is closed and there are no second bites of the cherry, if they made a mistake they have to live by it. However I'm not sure how it stands legally, does anyone have any advice or been in a similar situation?

Thanks in advance

As you say, one bite of the cherry for you and UKPC, no ifs no buts.
Complain to the BPA and to POPLA.

Have UKPC paid the POPLA assessor to do this ??

    Was this POPLA or WHOPLA

  • Hi,

Wow thank you for your speedy replies.

I received an e mail from the POPLA team saying UKPC had no contest and my appeal was successful.

Then a Kirsty Fellows from POPLA e mailed to say UKPC had made a mistake and the case had been reopened?

I've no idea whether UKPC paid POPLA to do this?

I sent an e mail replying to the one I received saying I don't accept that, UKPC have to live by their initial decision, but I like I say I don't know where I stand legally.

I will complain to BPa and POPLA.

    Thanks for your help

You should also complain to the DVLA, the local and national press, your MP, and Mrs May.

There is a campaign about this that you are encouraged to join on this forum.

Look at the most recent posts in the thread that starts This demands a new thread --- and use the link to the complaint letter.

  • Hi,

Just an update, have complained to POPLA and DVLA will let you know what response I get if any.

I will contact the local press to see if they are interested in the story.

    Thanks

  • I'm waiting for the first one that says they have changed their mind and the appeal that was refused has now been accepted. I won't hold my breath.
