Fitting acrylic sheet in bathroom

I can buy sheets of acrylic sheeting cheap enough and I'd like to put them on walls around a shower tray, then fit said shower cubicle (& toilet/basin onto the sheeting.
I can't seem to work out how people fit the sheeting onto the walls. Our walls are a bit dodgy and screwing them makes alot of sense to me, but all I can seem to find is "no more nails" type stuff being used.
So any bathroom fitters who would care enough to help me out please?

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
