G-Tech praise

Options
My mum is not very tech savvy, so I want to say thank you to GTech on her behalf.

She called them up to ask about pricing for a new Air-Ram, but explained that hers wasn't working very well. Rather than give pricing, the man looked her up on the database, asked her to bring the item to the phone and turn it on. He said the motor was not working properly. He explained that she had a bit of time left on a five year warranty and sent her a whole new main body free of charge... so not even send it back for a patch up.

It would have been very easy for them to stay quiet and talk her into buying a new one, so very pleased with GTech's honesty and great customer service.

Thank you!

I've always thought that the only way G-Tech will compete with Dyson is to sacrifice a little profit for quality and customer service. And from the OP's post they seem to be doing that.

I honestly cannot stand Dysons. I see people looking/buying them in shops and think "Mugs!" My parents have had several and they always break from the poor plastics and bad design. My local washing machine/vacuum repair man loves them. He says he makes £££s from repairing them.

I bought a G tech air ram in 2014 and it's still going strong. I love it, so much lighter and easier to manoeuvre than a corded cleaner. When I ordered it (through topcashback), it arrived in 3 days and the cash back was paid in a week. I thought that was very good service.

Since then I've also bought the hedge trimmer, which is quite heavy with the battery in, but still easier to use than the old corded one.

    Chrissy,
How long does the trimmer actually run for when fully charged?
The adverts state "up to 30 minutes" but I was just wondering what sort of usage was obtained in reality.

Why not tell your parents to call Dyson? Most models have a five year warranty, and their customer service are very helpful.

    I'll praise their customer service

I've got an air ram 2 , motor started going slow and red lights coming on which normally means a blockage . Cleaned everything , still did the same , ran it without the cylinder and still red lights but then a puff of smoke from the motor and dead.

Rang up just before 5pm last night , explained problem and without a 3rd degree a new base unit despatched. Out for delivery today and will be with me by 11pm .

  • So are G-Tech good then?

We're on our second Dyson and quite happy with it, but they are a bit clumsy and too heavy. (I don't mind it too much but my wife hates it when she uses it). Also I find the dust emptying method very messy.

    Is G-Tech better?

    I've got a gtech and a Dyson V6

The gtech is better for both battery life and cleaning , will probably replace the V6 with a cordless gtech handheld at some point

Yes, that was when they built quality, we, and most of the family, had one but I wouldn't touch a new one.
