Kitchen sink ceramic came away

I bought a new kitchen sink, when the kitchen fitter came to fit it, but upon punching the pre cut tap hole some of the enamel came away and now there is a large area of missing enamel around the tap area. It looks really bad! He said this has never happened to him before. I bought it through ebay from comparethebathroom.com. The time allowed to complain through ebay has passed, numbers calls and emails with the supplier of the sink said theres nothing I can do. Any ideas?

Well, firstly you haven't established what is faulty here.
Is the sink faulty, or did the fitter damage it?0 -
The sink came as it should, when the fitter pushed out the hole too much enamel came away. He said there must have been too much enamel put on during the manufacturing process but I don't know?0

What have the company said, or have they ignored your emails and calls?
You only have the bloke who broke its word that something is wrong with it at the moment. The company will need to see the sink to ascertain whether it is faulty or whether your fitter broke it and blamed it on a fault.0 -
The company have given various reasons but basically won't do anything! Plus it would be rather heavy to package and post back!0

How long has it been since you got the sink? It may be irrelevant as someone has potentially 'damaged it'
You may need to pay an independent person to come and look at the sink and state whether it is made correctly or with too much enamel. If you can get an independent report stating it is faulty, the company have to refund, replace or repair the sink. (and pay you your costs for the report)
The bloke who fitted it doesnt count as independent, naturally0 -
Tried to post a photo but not sure how to?0

Upload the photo to a hosting site (e.g. Photobucket) then post a link to it in a reply.
If the forum won't let you post a link then change http to hxxp.0 -

If you're fairly new to the site it won't let you. You could upload it to a website that hosts photos and link it here (you may need to put hxxp or a space in the link if again it wont let you link.0 -
