Switch pet insurance

I've had pet insurance for 2 years with direct line for 2 cats, but the premium has gone up hugely this year, it was renewed on sept 29th its now almost £30, which I pay monthly. Can I cancel that policy and switch to a cheaper one, or am I stuck with them for a year now? (I had an opperation about then and missed it.)

Check you policy document. Some will not charge for the whole year if you have not made a claim since the renewal date.
BE aware that if you have consulted your vet about anything, whether or not it resulted in treatment or a claim, that condition and anything that could be related to it will be a pre existing condition and excluded by a new company.
e'g' a slight lameness could result in any leg problem being excluded. A sotmach upset could result in no other stomach issue being covered.0 -
Thanks, I phoned them and I wont be charged anything to cancel, he even told me I can cancel today and go online and join again to get the 3 months free discount too. Thankfully we've not been to the vets for anything.0
