Closing ALL open apps - Android 6

Am I alone in missing the ability to "close ALL open apps" in Android 6 - by selecting the left pad - which leaves ALL apps open (even after a reboot).
On my last phone (Samsung - running Android 5) - this was a simple thing to do...

My Moto 4 doesn't
The only way to close apps is to hit the x in the top corner of ALL of them - individually !

As above it is equally simple in a Samsung running Marshmallow.

However, as you were told in a previous thread all you will achieve by closing the apps is to make them slower to open again.

Why would you want to? It won't improve performance.

I think it may only be touchwiz on Samsung that gives you the option to 'Close all'. Others just show them with an X in the corner to shut them individually or swipe them....
