MSE October British Gas Switch Descrepancy
Options
Hi all,
Has anyone else whose switched to the British Gas Collective October 2017 tariff, noticed the BG rate is different to the MSE advertised rate?
The standing charges are the same but the Electricity rate was advertised as 9.828p/kWh but my now live BG rate is 9.95p/kWh. The Gas rate was advertised as 2.594p/kWh but my live BG rate is 2.64p/kWh.
Am I missing something here? Is this VAT?

I have exactly the same problem. It isn't VAT.
I have tried speaking to BG twice, but both times the phone conversation was cut off (I don't mean to imply that BG did it on purpose, since both times the chap I was speaking to was cut off mid-sentence.). Bizarrely BG also tried to ring me to ask me if I wanted a smart meter, and that conversation was cut off as well.0 -
When I spoke to them they said they know that the website is displaying the wrong information (and will be fixing it soon) but the back end does have the correct info and so bills will be calculated correctly.MFiT-T3 #149: {Q4/14} (£46,447)-->(£0) ~ +£46,447=100%

OH WHAT A JOKE. You get an automated call back asking for you to rate your call/their service on a scale of 0 -10. Guess what? Half-way through my irritatedly rating everything with a zero, the call-back failed with a 'We're sorry. This service is not available at this time'.
Still, I switched to British Gas because they are cheap. Or at least I think they are, because they still have the tariff details incorrect.0 -

The CEC would have provided you with VAT inclusive rates
If those rates are not the ones now being used for billing you, then raise a complaint to BG (hopefully you have evidence of the rates you originally agreed to)0
