Linked addresses and default

Is adverse data attached to the name or an address???
The reason I ask is because I should have a default listed on my report but it isn't showing on Experian, equifax, noddle, or clearscore.
The address the default was linked to is my maiden name and at an address I lived in some 10 years ago. Both my maiden and married names are listed on the reports.
The default would only be 4 years old so should be showing.
