Confused about car fuses

I've attempted to replace a J type 30 amp fuse which had blown which looked like this from the back
titled 30A Pink PAL Pacific Type J Case Female Slow Blow Fuse for Car
but received one like this which doesn't seem to fit however hard I push.
You can see some slots are staggered in the second one, although this doesn't seem to serve any purpose, because the main slot seems to be the same size and position. Is there a difference, and how can I be sure of not getting another? One electrical retailer showed the first picture before buying but gave me the second claiming his supplier had changed.
I'm thinking of buying this now which has a diagram of the back slots
