Hi we are Bristol and pay nearly double what I paid for same size house on a meter in Surrey. BUT you can't change your water!

1. Reconcile your bank account every day (30 seconds or so)
2. Plan and review your monthly SO/DD & accruals for annual/1/2&1/4ly bills (30 minutes per year to set everything up - don't pay for insurances monthly as credit charges will bite)
3. Review any financial contracts/savings/investments to ensure value for money (MSE assists with options and comparisons)
4. Cut out spending on WANTS only spend on NEEDS (eliminate the coffees, lotto, fags, mags, booze, tv subs, extended warranties, fripperies, mobile contracts etc)
5. Agree life objectives with partner and fit this within your own financial envelope) This will be the most difficult to get you both on the same page, short term live for now versus save for the future (in your case save to throw everything against the debt)
6. As above throw everything off against the debt, once completed throw everything at saving/investing for achieving your life objective.Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.0 -
Just wanted to agree with others about water - we are a family a 4, paid £20 - £25 pm in the midlands, now we live in Devon and pay £65 - £70 pm.
If you go onto South West Water website you can get a free water saving kit which will help a bit - hippo bags for the loos and tap aeriators. It did save us about £10 pm.LBM 1.1.16 = £27096.59 - now £17,020.38
Paydbx 2017 - £3588.90/£7000 = 51.27% - number 74
Paydbx 2016 - £6487.31/£7000 = 92.67% - number 740
