Daytona beach recommendations

Hi, will be flying to Daytona int airport end march next year and have 4 nights before we leave (for a cruise). Does anyone have any recommendations of where to stay? Also highlights in the area (no hire car). We are family of 4 kids 11&8. Browsing through hotel sites I've seen Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, which looks nice and seems to be near entertainment...

Joe's Crab Shack on the pier! Fab food and staff! Other than that, sorry I can't add anything else. We went for a day trip whilst staying in Orlando, but couldn't find much to do so ended up in St Augustine further up the coast, following a recommendation from one of the chaps in Joe's. St Augustine is beautiful and we have returned there every year for a visit.0

You might be lucky at the end of March but if Spring Break is in progress my suggestion would be to avoid Daytona Beach and stay somewhere else.0
