TSB joint accounts

Hi
Potentially stupid question here. I am recently married and set up a joint account at the TSB with my husband (Classic Plus if it makes any difference). Can I pay in cheques which are made out to one of us (not both of us) if I'm handing over a card which is in both of our names? I didn't think to ask when I was in the branch.
Thanks
