You filled up and paid cash.

Obviously someone else could of put some diesel in a can for me but what would be the point of that.
Because you were too busy to get some yourself.

Also all petrol stations on the island use the same supplier.
In that case, I would expect there to be other instances. Ask your local newspaper, or if you have a local twitter feed handle / facebook group, ask there.

Not being funny, but insurance companies / mortgage approvals / most people will ALWAYS look for the worst case scenario.

You've asked here, the people have given advice. There's no point trying to prove to us that you're innocent - we don't really give a monkeys either way.

I live on the Isle of Wight there is a very limited amount of petrol stations I could of filled up at

Yes but seeing the IOW's population is pretty much that of a small city and as you say they don't seem to have that many choices of other places to fill up with petrol surely others would have the had exactly the same problem as you?

At the moment you're the only one out of the 140,000+ people who live on the Island whom some of which also must have also filled up at the same place. Don't you see the problem now?

Aaron Dowden, petrol station manager at Sainsbury's Newport, said: "It was discovered by the supplier that the flash point of the diesel was too low and the fuel was not delivered.

Which would cause the issues we are having.

    Any advice

So I don't understand why you didn't add a comment to that article?

In fairness, it would be for the defendant to provide evidence of this, not the OP.
