Well done Jess! Under 70k is a great achievement! :T:T Such a psychological boost to get into the next bracket - I can't wait to be under 100k (and I dream of being under 70k!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Well done you! I completely agree, when you reach one milestone the euphoria is often short-lived as you start to get excited about the next one!
It just shows how motivated you are though, keep it up, well done! xMFW

Thanks madvix and atb! I am really chuffed but just can't wait to get to the next milestone! It is really addictive! I just keep thinking the quicker we pay this mortgage off we can then save that money for a deposit for our forever home! Thanks for the support!

Just made an overpayment of £158.60 so the new balance is £69,700.00. I couldn't wait until OH got paid to make a payment of £300 so I thought I'd do half of it now and the other half when he gets paid. That and I didn't want the interest that will be added to take us back over £70,000.00! OH is behaving himself while I'm away and has only been eating food that's already in the house! Bless him, he's a good un!
Have a great evening everyone!

when you've done it for a couple of years it can seem like a right slog. I suggest you break your milestones down into 1000 or 2000 chunks and the two of you have a mini celebration when you hit each milestone. This will help you to keep going0 -
Well done on getting under the £70K mark.
I have a long way to go until then, as on only one wage at the moment.
As MSM has said - mini goals are the way to go, that is how i approach it and also try and ensure to have some fun too...which is what I am trying to do with DH.

Thanks MSM and SIL. Yeah that's a good idea to cut it into small goals to keep motivated! Our achillies heel is takeaways so I think this will be our reward as we've been really good and cut them down to once a month.
Thanks again for the support, I really appreciate it!

Well I'm back home after staying at my mum and dad's for a week. Only spent £10 while I was away (some bits for the dogs and a few books bought from the library) as I wasn't allowed to contribute towards food while I was there! OH has been eating food that was already in the house so he hadn't spent any money either. I've had my Tesco delivery for the next two weeks which was under £100 again so I'm really pleased as that means we have only spent £200 on food & toiletries for a month! OH gets paid on the 18th so we only have to pay for petrol until then, which should mean we have £200 left to make an overpayment to the mortgage! I'm so addicted I just can't wait!!
Have a great day everyone!
