Thanks ch4rly!
I have seen that advertised on the T.V but I think because your glasses are so important I've always been abit dubious which is silly really because I buy everything else online! Next time I need glasses I will definitely have a look!
Ooo I do love m&s food so that will give me an excuse to go more often! Lol! xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I used Reglaze my Glasses and they were really good too - although I guess it depends if you have a spare pair to send off!
It sounds like the GF stuff is working, but if you think it could be coeliac, it's probably a good idea to get properly tested for it. Apologies if you know this but the test involves eating lots of bread for a couple of weeks (I have several friends who've suffered this!), so it might be worth doing sooner rather than later, before your body gets too used to not eating it. Bear in mind though that it might not be the wheat that's the issue - my sister cut it out thinking she was intolerant, her stomach adjusted, making her ill whenever she did eat it (reaffirming the idea), but in the end it turned out to be gall stones - once she had her gall bladder removed, all was well again and she could eat wheat!
On the upside, I've had some very nice GF stuff recently (parties with special friends!) and it's been a pleasant surprise how tasty it was!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi MV! Thanks for that! I don't think it's as serious as coeliac as I can still eat other things that contain gluten and don't get cramps, it seems to be when I eat a lot for example the last time I had cramps I'd had pasta bake with garlic bread for tea and then some leftover pasta bake for lunch the next day! So I'm not trying to cut it out completely but just make sure I don't eat too much at once.
Yeah there is some lovely GF food about and I highly recommend Tesco own GF pizza! xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter?! We went to visit my parents and see all the family and as usual we weren't allowed to pay for anything so the only money spent was on the petrol to get there and back and £15 on my nephews (3 nephews so a fiver each). I also got some eggs from my brother who has several chickens so I'll look forward to using those! Trying to convince DH to let me have a couple of chickens but he's not having it! Lol!
Natwest has finally updated the mortgage so the new total is definitely £64,990! Yay! DH gets paid in 2 days but I think I'll wait for the normal payment to go out on the 1st May and the interest to be added on before making another overpayment.
I've done the shopping today and it was under £100 for the next two weeks. Last week I started writing what we were going to have for tea on the calendar to encourage me not to order a takeaway and hold me accountable! It has worked so far so I think I'll keep doing it!
I've got £5 coming from one of the survey sites and I am close to £10 on one and £20 on another but every time I go to do a survey I don't qualify! It's like they know I'm getting close to cashing out and are doing it to wind me up! Lol
Have a lovely evening!

It's been a busy but cheap weekend! Saturday I went to pick up my new glasses (2 pairs incase my dog decides to eat another pair atleast I will have a spare this time and a pair of sunglasses) and hopefully I won't need to buy anymore for two years when my next eye test is due! I then went to my friend's house to help her pack for her move this week. I will admit I am jealous that she's moving to a lovely 4 bed, detached house but on the other hand I know that to get the house they have now got a very large mortgage and the hope is that when we come to move we will have paid off all or nearly all of ours and the next mortgage we have will have a very low LTV! My friend's mum has managed to re-arrange furniture and rooms at her house so my friend won't have to come and stay with us after all. Part of me is abit sad because it would have been a good laugh but another part of me is relieved because I would end up cleaning constantly and be worried that if I didn't she might think we're scruffy! Lol!
While at my friend's house her son showed me the pokemon cards he has and was planning on selling at a car-boot but he said some were special and that he didn't want to sell them for cheap, well after looking at ebay we found one of the cards he has was selling for £10! Long story short I ended up with all of his pokemon cards to try and sell on ebay (There seems to be hundreds of them! Lol!). I put ten on Sunday night and three have bids already and one of those three has a bid for £7.50! If anyone with children reading this that collects pokemon cards, I would suggest you get them and check ebay asap!
Sunday was a cleaning, washing and ironing day so no money spent there! Yesterday I went to Nostell Priory again with my neighbour and the dogs for a lovely walk. I was able to use my national trust card for free parking and it was my neighbours turn to buy the coffee and cake so another mse day!
Today I have claimed £10 from panelbase by bacs so I'm hoping that will be in my account by the end of the week or early next week.
Sticking to the meal plan at the moment so no takeaways have been purchased since the Easter Holidays. I know that's only a week ago but I'm dying for a dominos or indian from my local curry house! Lol!
Have a lovely afternoon and if you're going out wrap up warm (well in Yorkshire it's pretty cold today!)

Sounds like the Pokemon cards are going to make quite a bit. Well done for checking and getting them on the Bay! I sold some of DHs old XMen cards about a year ago and got quite a bit for them. I think anyone with collectibles like that who don't want them anymore should do and get on there to check what they're worth as they could be sat on a little gold mine!
Glad you had a nice walk at Nostell Priory. Sounds like you're fairly close to me (I live in a village near Wakefield, Huddersfield, Bradford) and it's somewhere I've considered going but haven't really heard much about it. Would you recommend it? and yes, it is pretty cold here todayMortgage: Mar 2018 -£300,000 / Jul 2021 -£255,000 / Oct 2024 -£172,835 (1.27% Interest until Feb 2027)

Hi ch4rly! Yeah I hope so because it would be nice for my friends son to get something for them, I just wish they were mine! Lol! Yeah they should, I never really collected anything like that when I was younger. The only thing I did have that I saw recently are worth some money now are Disney films on video tape. The article said that the original video of Beauty and Beast was going for as much as £600!! I asked my mum if she still had the box with all my videos and of course she went 'No I sold them all at a car boot for 50p each'. Blooming typical! Lol!
I live in Barnsley so no you're not far away at all! Yes I would definitely recommend Nostell Priory. You can have a lovely walk around the grounds, lake and gardens. I would quite like to go in the house at some point but we usually have the dogs and obviously they're not allowed inside. The old coach house and stables next to the house have been turned into toilets, caf! and a garden shop. The caf! has seats inside and out and the Victoria sponge is lovely!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Ha, typical mum. My mum was the same. She was always clearing out our toys so we wouldn't get too cluttered and she got rid all the original Star Wars figures that my brothers had as kids (I don't even think she sold them), which would be worth a lot now. If I'm ever fortunate enough to have children I'm going to make sure I have a nice big attic to store their toys, like my in-laws have... they have original space hoppers, original star wars figures etc.
Not too far at allI will definitely go and check it out. It sounds very much like Rufford Abbey and park that I used to visit a lot when we lived in Nottingham. They too turned the stables into toilets, cafe and shop! Victoria sponge is my favourite so that's a must! Did you say you bought a pass for parking? That could be a good way to save some money as DH and I want to walk around national heritage places to get healthier and enjoy the history and open spaces we have available to us

It's amazing what people will spend money on isn't it? I'm always really grateful that there are still plenty of lovers of 'things' and collectors out there - it makes it much easier to earn money from my old tat!
It sounds like your friend's son will do well out of his Pokemon cards

Oh no ch4rly those toys would be worth a fortune now! To be fair she did only sell them because they were moving to their bungalow a couple of years ago so I suppose I couldn't expect her to move them aswell! Parking at Nostell is £4 for the day but I became a member of the National Trust for £5.40 a month so you get a membership card for free parking and access to the properties and as we go quite often now I'm making sure I get my monies worth from it! They sent me a huge book when I became a member of all the National Trust properties and places all over the UK and we are quite lucky because there are a few places to visit in Yorkshire and nearby counties.
