Asking current cards for balance transfer offers...?

Hi everyone
I wondered if we could start a bit of a discussion about how best to approach your current CC companies about getting better rates / balance transfer deals if you're an exisiting customer...
I have a Mint card and want to try and ask them to give me a balance transfer deal so I can shift some debt onto it without having to open a new card. Firstly, does anybody have any dealings with Mint you could tell me about?
Also - is it a case of which person you speak to on the phone? Or will they all say the same thing? It'd be good to know your experience....
Thanks guys, and hope to hear from you soon!! :T

All you have to do is call up Customer Services and ask, "are there any offers on my account for balance transfers at the moment please?"
It's not a case that a certain team/person will be able to give you a special offer. These days even retentions/closures just have the same offers on their system.0 -
It pays to settle your balance in full first. Better still, transfer the balance to another credit card. Either way, check your balance is zero before you call Customer Services.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0
