Has anyone had dealings with Zog Energy.
I haven't heard of them, but they are the cheapest gas supplier on comparison site for me.
Fixed for 12 months with no exit fee, very tempted.
Any help much appreciated.

There is a thread on here about them. The only bad thing about them is you cannot change tariffs penalty free within the contract period (if applicable). For me the penalty free tariff is £40 per year dearer than their cheapest so a moot point really. Excellent CS, probably the best out there. A bit old fashioned with no proper web account but submit readings at the end of the month and PDF bill e-mailed around 9th. I would have stayed with them but they were not, and still are not, competitive for me. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/51723760

No problem with Zog for me .0

Cheapest and problem free so far after 6 months or so.
You need to provide monthly readings (some people have moaned about this:D) which isn't a problem for me.0 -
Zog are wonderful - I wish they did electricity tooA chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0

I have missed the odd month due to other commitments and they are fine with it. They just estimate your usage (which was very close for me) and then catch it up on your next reading.0 -
They are a nice friendly company to deal with. Emails are answered the same day. I'm a bit a lazy about meter readings and only do it when they politely remind me to, which is about once a year.0

Thank you once again for all your help.
Decided to go with Zog Saturn 12, one last check on comparison site and now British Natural Gas fixed for 17 months is coming up cheapest, and again never heard of them.
I know I am getting a bit (lot) older but this is so confusing.
I don't have family to help, so could I please ask you kind folk if you have heard of British Natural Gas ? Can you recommend?

Never heard of them and I can't find any threads on here about them so they must be new or only supply a very small part of the country.
From experience the sensible advice to offer you is that if and when you come across a company like Zog who have a very high customer poll rating and where you really will struggle to find anyone with a bad word to say about them it's a rare thing indeed so grab their offer with both hands.
The few quid extra it may cost you over the new kid on the block's price can sometimes save you from entering a world of unbelievable incompetence, wasted time and unnecessary worry further down the line. Using any new energy supplier is always a gamble until they have managed to build a reputation with customers and have some history behind them.
With Zog it really is as simple as providing your meter reading online on the last day of each month and your monthly statement is emailed to you around 8-10 days later. If you do happen to have any problems or wish to change to another of their tariffs a simple email gets you a prompt response.
In my opinion Zog are one of the better if not the best energy suppliers out there. It's how all energy suppliers should be.....if only they sold electric as well.0 -
