Escorted coach tours of Scotland

Three French friends want to take an escorted bus tour of Scotland next April. They are looking for a tour of 4/5 days departing from Edinburgh. They would like a scenic tour taking in castles/old houses en route.

I have looked on line but wondered if anyone could recommend a suitable company from personal experience.

Many thanks!

After having a disastrous tour in Italy this year I wouldn't recommend Leger, they employ no drivers and the coaches are all hired in so no personal service and third rate accommodation.

Maybe have look at the company "Highlands Heritage" They used to mainly target the older US market but I understand they have broadened their scope in the last few years and made it much easier to book and join tours from within the UK.

They may be a slightly odd/individualistic company - and some of their practices have left me scratching my head over the years but I must admit that they seem to do the tour thing for their customers very well indeed and FTM, they are still a Scottish-owned and based firm that has always prided itself on a high standard of professionalism and customer service but the owner is apparently looking to sell-up and retire sometime soon.

I'll declare my interest - I have had professional dealings with the owner's son in a different, non tourism-related line of work.
  • Also look at Lochs and Glens Coach company. They own their own hotels and coaches in Scotland
