Booked wrong dates for holiday!

Total mess up, booked romantic break next week with hubby in Edinburgh. Just checked the confirmation email (booked early Sept) to realise I've booked the following week instead :mad: Can't switch our dates as it's all around half term, kids with grandparents etc.

Booked it on a non-refundable basis with hotels.com

Is there anywhere that I could sell it? Any suggestions of how to do this. It's a bargain as I paid £386 - just checked and for me to switch weeks would cost £1,444 for same room! Would be great just to recoup a little bit of my mistake

Call the hotel and see what they can do

Mumto2, be careful when thinking about selling your booking.

If, the purchaser of your booking decides to trash the place, you will get the bill.

Probably best to only sell to someone you know and trust.

surely most hotels will ask for a credit card on checkin to cover damages and mini bar etc

Phone hotels.com and explain the situation. I book hotels for work all the time and when there are issues they are usually good at sorting them out and sometimes refund us 'non refundable' rooms. If hotels.com can't help then phone the hotel and see if they have any rooms this weekend, if they do chances are they want to fill them up and may be accommodating.
